In a 1994 interview with The Advocate, Armstrong came out as bisexual. ”I think I’ve always been bisexual,” he said. ”I know that when I was younger, I was too afraid to admit it, because I was thinking, 'Oh, man, I’m just a punk rocker. I can’t be bisexual.'”
He fights for what's right, being a feminist and anti-facist.
Sadly, Billie Joe struggled with addiction, waking up somewhere he didn't know at the bottom of a bottle. At the Vegas Radio Festival, he smashed his guitar on stage, shouting “I’m not fucking Justin Bieber, you motherfuckers.” The next day, he asked his wife how bad it was. She told him, and he got on a plane ASAP back to Oakland, and to rehab. His recovery postponed the production of Green Day's album trilogy ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tré! Luckily, he got better and continues to tour with Green Day to this day.
